Game News and Schedules of Events:

South Breaks the Spell with 11-6 Victory...The stars were bright in Broomfield on Wednesday night with the CHL and the Rocky Mountain Rage hosting the 2008 CHL All-Star Game. The game featured outstanding offensive play and in the end the Southern Conference ended a four-game losing streak with an 11-6 victory.

Josh Blue Highlights CHL All-Star Banquet...The 2008 CHL All-Star Game festivities kicked off on Tuesday night with the All-Star Banquet at the Broomfield Event Center. Comedian Josh Blue finished off the night with a 45-minute set that had the audience in stitches. Blue was the winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Trio of Bucks in All-Star Game Wednesday...The Laredo Bucks will be well represented in Wednesday's Central Hockey League All-Star game at the Broomfield Event Center. The Bucks three all-stars, Jeff Bes, Serge, Dube, and Dustin Traylen will lace up their skates for the Southern Conference, as they take on the Northern Conference. Game time is 8:05pm Central.

Tessier Named Starter for CHL All-Star Game...Due to one of his fellow All-Stars being recalled to the American Hockey League, Jason Tessier will be placed in the starting lineup for the CHL's All Star Game on January 16th in Broomfield, Colorado.

Burgoyne, Watson to represent Blazers...In all-star terms, the Blazers will send a returning starter and a rookie into tonight's Central Hockey League All-Star Game. Tonight in Broomfield, Colo., Blazers defenseman Mike Burgoyne will start his second straight CHL all-star game and Blazers winger Ryan Watson will play in his first.

Hometown Goaltender Named to North All-Star Roster...The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rocky Mountain goaltender Scott Reid has been named to the Northern Conference roster for the CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield, Colorado scheduled for Wednesday. It will be his fourth all-star appearance.

Shots from the Point (All-Star Edition)...The 2008 CHL All-Star Game is set for Wednesday, January 16th in Broomfield, Colorado at the Broomfield Event Center. Sundogs Schlemko Named to Southern Conference All-Star Team...The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Arizona defenseman David Schlemko has been named to the Southern Conference roster for the CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield, Colorado scheduled for next week. It will be his first all-star appearance.

Josh Blue ready to poke fun at hockey players and himself...Hockey players are an easy target for comedian Josh Blue, but they're also a lot bigger than him. That won't stop the 2006 winner of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" from taking jabs at a room full of burly men who are known for getting into fights.

All-Star Profile - Rocky Mountain's Tyler Butler...The Rage have gone through quite a transformation from last year’s expansion season to this year where they have the best winning percentage in the CHL and a 23-4-3 record. One of the biggest acquisitions over the off-season was veteran defenseman Tyler Butler.

All-Star Profile - Petr Pohl, Youngstown SteelHounds...As one of the youngest players in the CHL (21 years-old), Pohl’s emergence on the scene as one of the best all-around players in the league is a bit of a surprise. The Columbus Blue Jackets liked what they saw in Pohl during his time in the QMJHL drafting him in the fifth round of the 2004 NHL Draft.

All-Star Profile - New Mexico's Konrad Reeder...The second-year pro has had a great first half of the season ranking in the CHL’s top five in scoring with 47 points (15-32=47). Reeder has been the spark-plug for the Scorpions strong play this season that has them in position to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. New Mexico is currently 15-12-4 sitting nine points behind the Odessa Jackalopes and Arizona Sundogs for first place in the Southwest Division.

Mississippi's Ryan Campbell Replaces Teammate on All-Star Roster...The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Mississippi forward Ryan Campbell has been named to the Northern Conference roster for the CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield, Colorado scheduled for next week. Cullaton, Bes Named All-Star Captains...The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rocky Mountain’s Brent Cullaton and Laredo’s Jeff Bes will serve as captains for the 2008 CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield, Colorado scheduled for next week. The captains were selected by the game’s head coaches, Tracy Egeland of Rocky Mountain (Northern Conference Head Coach) and Marco Pietroniro of Arizona (Southern Conference Head Coach).

All-Star Profile - Texas' Justin Kinnunen...The Texas Brahmas knew in the off-season that they would need a strong defensive unit to contend in their return back to the CHL. They signed a strong, proven goaltender (David Cacciola), a veteran defensemen with championship experience (Craig Minard) and a slight 6-0, 170-pound blue-liner from Michigan who seemed to fly under the radar. That player was Justin Kinnunen.

All-Star Profile - RGV's Travis Banga...During the off-season, the RGV Killer Bees made a trade that they knew would pay immediate dividends. The deal involved forward Travis Banga who was coming off his third consecutive solid season showing that he is a contributor as a professional.

Stanley Cup to Make Appearance at All-Star Game...Broomfield Sports and Entertainment has announced that the Stanley Cup will make an appearance at the 2008 Central Hockey League All-Star Game and Banquet at the Broomfield Event Center Jan. 15-16. The 2008 CHL All-Star Game will be hosted by the Rocky Mountain Rage and the City and County of Broomfield.

All-Star Profile - Mississippi's Derek Landmesser...The elder statesman in the all-star class of 2008 in the CHL is Mississippi defenseman Derek Landmesser. Not elder by age, he is just shy of his 33rd birthday, but elder in the fact that this will be his sixth all-star appearance (2003-2008). Only Hardy Sauter has played in more (eight appearances).
