 The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs have re-signed CHL All-Star netminder John DeCaro, He is the 1st player to be signed for the '09-10 upcoming season.

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League will hold a press conference tomorrow morning to officially announce the sale of the franchise. The press conference will begin promptly at 11:00 am tomorrow, Thursday, July 2 at the CenturyTel Center.
Expected to be in attendance are new owners Tommy and Leslie Scott, President & General Manager Ray Delia and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Scott Muscutt. All media are invited and encouraged to attend the event.

The Rapid City Rush announced today that center Mitch Stephens has signed with the Rosenheim Starbulls of the German Oberliga.
Stephens was acquired by the Rush back on February 8th in a trade with the Laredo Bucks. "I loved it in Rapid City," said Stephens. "I played in New Mexico for a year and a half and I also played in Laredo and I have to say Rapid City is definitely the best place to play.

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that the Oklahoma City Blazers and the New Mexico Scorpions will not play in the 2009-10 season. The league will play the 2009-10 season with 15 participating teams.
“We, along with the Scorpions ownership group, have been working diligently for months trying to make it possible to play in Rio Rancho (New Mexico) this season but our efforts fell short,” said Duane Lewis, Commissioner of the CHL.

On the same day the new owners of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs were formally introduced, the team also announced its first player signing for the 2009-2010 Central Hockey League season.
Goaltender John DeCaro has signed to return to Bossier-Shreveport for his third year with the club after spending last season with the ECHL’s Las Vegas Wranglers.

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League today announced the official transfer of team ownership from John Madden to Tommy and Leslie Scott of Shreveport.
The Scott's were formally introduced to the media as the new owners of the franchise earlier today during a press conference at the CenturyTel Center.

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs have signed goaltender John DeCaro and will bring back coach Scott Muscutt for the 2009-10 season.

DeCaro did not play for the Mudbugs last season. He collected back-to-back Central Hockey League Most Outstanding Goaltender awards (2006-07, 2007-08)

The Odessa Jackalopes announced today that forward Mike Ramsay and defenseman Garrett Gruenke will return for the 2009-10 Central Hockey League season. Ramsay just finished his second season in a Jackalopes uniform and set career highs with 36 assists and 51 points. He also added 15 goals.
"It should a great year," said Ramsay. "We had a good season last year. We gained some experience by getting to the Conference Finals and we're getting some familiar faces back so we're going to try and build on things. I'm looking forward to it and looking for a championship next season."

With the nation poised to celebrate its birthday this weekend, the Tulsa Oilers will be bringing back a player with a presidential surname for the 2009-10 Central Hockey League season.
Defenseman Peter Kennedy (no relation to the country's 35th chief executive) has signed with the Oilers for the upcoming season. The 6-foot-2 195 pounder was limited to 28 games with the Oilers last year when a broken thumb shortened his season. He had one goal and seven assists and 28 penalty minutes. Kennedy says the off season rehabilitation has gone well.

The Missouri Mavericks’ signed former Central Hockey League (CHL) MVP Jeff Christian today as the first player in team history.
Head Coach Scott Hillman made the announcement at the Sheraton Kansas City Sports Complex, and Christian will also serve as assistant coach of the Mavericks.

An impact-making forward who scored goals when it counted last year is returning to the Mississippi RiverKings roster, according to Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin "Killer" Kaminski.
Matt Summers has signed to play for the CHL Northeast Division champion RiverKings during the upcoming 2009-2010 season. Kaminski said this about his returning forward, "Matt is a kid who has all the tools, has great hands, vision, hockey sense, and a knack to score "BIG" goals!

The Tulsa Oilers have added experience up the middle with the signing of veteran center Aaron Davis for the 2009-10 Central Hockey League season.
Davis, 6-foot-2, 210 pounds split last season between Texas and Rocky Mountain. The 29 year old has played 342 professional games, and needs just three goals to reach 100 for his pro career.

As the details were revealed, Tommy Scott became more uneasy about purchasing the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. He was advised to avoid the deal, but despite the numerous financial reasons to run for the hills, the native Shreveporter tackled the challenge.
He has passion for the Mudbugs and realizes he's not alone.

The Amarillo Gorillas have signed former Central Hockey League "Rookie of the Year" forward David Nimmo for the 2009-2010 season, the team announced Tuesday. Nimmo, 26 (07/25/82), rejoins Amarillo after skating for the Florida Everblades and Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League, where he earned 11 goals and 24 points in 51 games last season.
"We are very pleased to have Dave back in Amarillo for the upcoming season," noted Gorillas Head Coach Brian Pellerin. "Dave is a dynamic player who will make everyone on our team better. He will certainly be a player our fans will love to watch."

The Scorpions organization has lost their most tenured employee to the AHL. Michael Gonzales has taken a account executive job with the Texas Stars, who will take the ice for the first time this fall.
"I am sad to leave the Scorpions because of the great friendships I have created with the staff and fans," said Gonzales. "It is also exciting to get a chance at the next level and return home, closer to my family. I look forward to this new challenge."
